Our story

"Building a business is knowing how to make something to be proud of, it's creating something that will make a real difference to other people's lives."
- Richard Branson

Inalco was set up in 1973 by its founder, José Silva Santos, as an aluminium and iron construction industry. The country grew into a new era and so did the company.

Pool covers were far from being an important part of a house-building project. At the beginning of the 1990s, the vision of new consumer habits and the desire to innovate made us realise that an investment is only worthwhile when it is enjoyed all year round, just like our home, in other words, when it is forever.

That's why, in that same decade, alongside so many other revolutions in terms of technology, culture, values and ideals, the CoverPool International brand was born, and Inalco began to dedicate itself to the manufacture and assembly of swimming pool covers. A project that we embrace every day as if it were our last, but with the certainty that it is undoubtedly forever.

About CoverPool

The company's productive growth has been accompanied by sustainable technological growth, and in recent years the company has acquired new manufacturing and project support equipment. In June 2012, we moved to larger premises with better working conditions and are now based in an industrial unit in Loures.

As well as focusing on production growth, CoverPool International® has recently started a partnership with the Mechanical Engineering Department of the Instituto Superior Técnico, where structural analyses of the roofs are carried out and a Research and Development project for CoverPool International® roofs has also been launched. The company is concerned about the environment and all materials from manufacturing waste are recycled by certified companies.

"If you want to get where most people aren't, do what most people aren't doing."
- Bill Gates
